ELEPHANT ATTACKS BJP MEETING IN MEERUT

An elephant ( the symbol of BJP)invited to be admired on the occasion of a BJP- rally got mad and attacked for several hours everything what was around the Delhi-Dehradun road in Meerut. At least 30 cars were destroyed including a police car. The elephant could not be tranqiluised ( killing is not possible in India, because of the believe in Ghanes, the elephant like deity) because police was not in the position of the rifle and the syringe. It took 4 hours to get the tusker calmed down. THE ELEPHANTS A VERY SAD AND AN ELUSIVE ROMANTIC STORY

The sad story
Three people were trampled to death when an elephant ran amok at the Irrinjalakuda 'Koodalmanikya' temple The festival drew as each year a large number of domestic and foreign tourists. The police identified two of those killed as Kausalya, 75, and Nidheesh, 20. "The third person's identity is yet to be confirmed. His face was crushed beyond recognition," an official at Irinjalakkuda police station said. The jumbo, which continued the rampage for about two hours, was calmed down by the mahouts and chained.

The tusker with the name of Thiruvalla Unnikrishnan (which such a name I also could make amok) was brought to the centuries-old temple as part of the annual festival celebrations. The romantic tusker story
The 26-year-old tusker had entered Chittaranjan town a few days ago, triggering panic among the residents. WILD ELEPHANTS SAVING BY ELEPHANT SHOW

Nowadays only 4 % of the Indian surface is suitable for wild elephants; the decline is mainly due to the destruction of the forest habitats to make place for agriculture, cities, villages and the related infrastructures and hydrothermal plans
Poaching with ivory as the goal is still an item but is not the major reason of the killing of wild elephants. Villagers and tribal are increasingly encroaching in on forest land, forcing wild elephants to come closer and closer into the villages, killing over 100 people each year just by simple walking over them.
The villager’s tactics is to make fences from electric pylons all around the village. Instead of using a low power high voltage electrical fence has used in the west for keeping the cattle in the parks, they use the full 220 V, I assume with a rupee coin as fuse. This is not only extremely dangerous for their compatriots but for all other animals.
A dozen of elephants have been killed in the last few years, conservationist says.
