AL-QAIDA WARNINGS TO INDIA

Now al-Qaida is openly defending Pakistan with one of the terror outfit's top commanders warning India of more Mumbai-like attacks. In Al-Qaida's Mustafa Abu al-Yazid has warned India in a video. (Times Now)
The al-Qaida threat follows an earlier offer by the Taliban to sink differences over the US-led war on terror and fight "common enemy" India shoulder-to-shoulder with the Pakistan army. The generous offer of assistance came even as Pakistan army is ostensibly engaged in trying to curtail the Taliban's growing influence.
The somewhat bizzare spectacle of jihadi terror organisations rushing to its aid might be slightly embarrassing for Islamabad but only underlines the Taliban-al-Qaida presence in Pakistan, and the impunity with which these groups operate. Pakistan may well have preferred that the al-Qaida did not express its empathy openly, but Al Yazid's statement is clearly meant to be in sync with the popular anti-India mood in the country.
Apart from exposing the interest of al-Qaida in India, seen to be part of the jihadi agenda, Al Yazid's appearance will further discredit Pakistan's ability to fight terror as the terrorist was believed to have been dead. It was Pakistan which had "confirmed" his death by conveying to the US that Al Yazid had been killed in an encounter with its security forces in the Bajaur tribal region last year in August. The nature of the Mumbai attacks had given rise to speculation over the possibility of al-Qaida having had a hand in the mayhem.
"India should know it will have to pay a heavy price if it attacks Pakistan. The mujahideen will sunder your armies into the ground, like they did to the Russians in Afghanistan," Al Yazid, widely accepted as No.3 in the al-Qaida hierarchy after Osama bin Laden and Ayman Al Zawahiri, was quoted as saying in the Arabic video by BBC. He also threatened to target economic centres and humiliate India further by bringing in suicide bombers from all over the world.

In the video, Al Yazid also urges Pakistanis to overthrow the civilian government. Till his `death', Al Yazid was believed to be the commander of al-Qaida in Afghanistan. He last appeared in a video in August last year in which he confirmed the death of another al-Qaida leader. An Egyptian like Al Zawahiri, he spent several years in jail - just like his compatriot - for his alleged involvement in the assassination of Egypt's president in 1981.

AND I AM ONCE AGAIN GETTING VERY SCARED
